Diagnose the documented decline outcome
Signaturely’s help describes a decline option appearing with the third reminder after72 hours. For a single signer it describes a declined document in the voided area. With multiple signers, others can finish while the declining person’s fields remain blank and the decline is recorded. These documented cases make it important to inspect the participants and output, not to interpret a single status word as universal agreement.
Separate a refusal from an access problem
Someone who cannot open a request needs access assistance. Someone who declines may be rejecting the document, its wording or the requested action. Do not treat those as interchangeable states. Follow the actual organization’s process for resolving a disagreement or correcting the document. This site does not determine whether a decline has a particular legal effect, and it does not recommend pressuring a recipient to reverse a decision.
Preserve what actually happened
Keep the original request identity, observed participant states and relevant record. Do not overwrite the original history by casually preparing a new version and describing it as the same completed agreement. If a revision is appropriate, identify it clearly and establish who has authority to issue it. A clean-looking dashboard is less important than an understandable record of which document was offered and what response it received.
Verify the appropriate next action
The correct next step may be clarification, a separately approved revision or no further request. It is not automatically a resend. Explain the specific unresolved issue to the responsible person without exposing the entire document unnecessarily.
